Klaverjas tips
Know the rules? Then it's about playing smart. These tips help you win more often, at the table and against the computer.

Play or pass
If you play on the proposed trump, your team has to score more than the opponents. A good hand has plenty of trumps, especially the jack and the nine: together already 34 points. With a single low trump and no aces, you're better off passing.
Smearing
If your partner is winning the trick, add points to it, such as a ten. That's called smearing: the points go to your team.
Drawing trump
With many high trumps, lead the jack of trumps. That pulls the opponents' trumps, so your aces and tens are safe later on.
Trump low
If you have to trump and you're last in the trick, use the lowest trump that wins it. Save the jack and nine for tricks where you really need them.
Signal your partner
Talking isn't allowed, but the card you discard can say something. A low card from a suit in which you hold the ace means: lead this suit. A nine from a suit without ace or ten says: nothing here. On Expert, the computer signals you the same way.
Mind the roem
Roem goes to whoever wins the trick. Don't complete a run or a stuk in a trick your opponents will win.
Practice
The quickest way to improve is to play a lot. In the Klaverjas Club app you play the computer at three levels, and Expert shows you how it's done.
